About Us

We are Housing Plus

Housing Plus is a nonprofit that offers housing and support services to individuals, and their families, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have a qualifying disability. We provide short-term assistance by covering security deposits or rent, utility and mortgage costs for up to five months, helping people navigate health or financial crises. We also provide long-term rental assistance through a subsidy. Those who qualify can rent from any private landlord in the community, with no time limit on the assistance.

Renting through Housing Plus helps you:

Maintain a low vacancy rate. Housing Plus needs units for new tenants frequently, and a dedicated Housing Specialist helps your tenant succeed in independent housing and can respond if issues ever arise.

Get guaranteed monthly income. Housing Plus’s rent portion will arrive each month as long as the unit passes Housing Quality Standards and the client is still in our program.

Know about maintenance issues before they are a problem. Mandatory annual inspections and regular home visits ensure that any pest or cleaning issue is identified and addressed promptly.

Help out individuals and families in need. Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. Every Housing Plus client has experienced or been at risk of homelessness, and at least one household member has a qualifying disability. Without partnership from landlords and property owners willing to offer a quality home, these individuals and families would be homeless and their health would be in jeopardy.

Support a healthy community. People who are housed are less likely to need to use the Emergency Room, to require inpatient physical and mental health care, or to be incarcerated.
